These systems are sometimes referred to as mini-splits because they have two main components- an outdoor condenser unit and an indoor air distributor unit, often called a cassette or head.

For this home, we were able to mount the unit off the ground as well, making it easier to keep the condenser unit free of leaves and debris, and making it easier to maintain.
What About Indoors?
In older construction like this home, the ceilings are not particularly high, so we needed to consider what option would give the family the maximum comfort throughout the great room, without taking up space on the walls.
Fortunately, Mitsubishi ductless systems have a variety of options you can choose from to get the comfort you need as well as fit your home and style. With the lower ceiling heights in this home, a flush-mounted air distribution cassette worked well.
We did not have to take up a lot of wall space and we could mount the unit in the ceiling, where the advanced sensors can monitor the temperature and humidity throughout the room, and make adjustments as needed. That will ensure the family is comfortable throughout the great room, not just in pockets like before.
