Hello, I’m Pete Threlkeld, I’m a comfort advisor here at Blue Ridge Heating and Air. Just to let you know what to expect when you have a comfort advisor appointment with me, on the day before I’ll call you and verify that we have an appointment. And then the day of, I will call you when I’m about 30 minutes away, let you know that I’m on my way and see where you want me to park, whether it be in the driveway or out at the street. And then when I get there, I’ll come in, I’ll always put floor covers on.

my shoes so that I don’t track anything into your house. It will come in and we’ll talk about your specific needs. We’ll talk about any issues that you may have had in the past, any expensive repairs, any issues with uncomfortable temperatures in other rooms, moisture, humidity, that kind of thing. And then we’ll go through your house and look at several components that I need to look at to make the right solution for you.

So before I come to your home, I usually like to do an MJ-8 report on your home to make sure that we’re going to properly size the heating and air conditioning unit for your specific needs. After we talk for a few minutes about what’s going on in your home, we will go through your house. I’m going to count all the supplies and the returns, also to verify that we’re sizing everything correctly.

And then I’m either going to need to go up into the attic where your air headler is or down into the crawl space or basement, wherever it may be. And there I’m going to have to take some photos and some measurements just to verify that our equipment will fit and that yours will come out. And then I’m going to need to see your breaker box and the outdoor unit. We’re going to do some photos and measuring there as well to make sure that our outdoor unit will properly fit.

and whether we’re going to need an outdoor pad to set the unit on or whether we’re going to need brackets to hang it on the wall, per se. So we go through all of these steps because we want to make sure that we’re putting the proper size equipment in your home. Too large of a system will short cycle and will cause moisture issues and you’ll never be comfortable. Too small of a system and the system will never keep up and either you’ll always be too hot or you’ll be too cold in the winter.

So we like to properly size them so that you have that happy medium right there where it needs to be and you have the exact system that you need.
